The view from Nant Gwrtheyrn this morning

Words from the beginning of the Psalm [40]:

“God drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”

Here we stand upon this rock, upon this cliff

In this place of refreshment.

We give thanks for colleagueship

For new learning

For Nicky’s leading of us these past few days

“God drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”

Here we stand, upon this rock, upon this cliff

Looking out over the life of the diocese.

We pray for the clergy in our care

For colleagues in Tŷ Deiniol

For a common life marked more deeply by grace and truth and trust

“God drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”

Here we stand, upon this rock, upon this cliff

Reflecting on the challenges of being up high, of being leaders.

We pray for the Archbishop, and for his leadership of the Church in Wales

For the Bench of Bishops and Simon Lloyd

And for Cherry Vann as she makes her retreat ahead of her consecration this weekend

“God drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”

Here we stand, upon this rock, upon this cliff

Confident that, at the last, God draws us up.

We pray for those waking this morning to desolation or sadness, to grief or pain

And we pray for the departed, among them…

That they might all know the power of God, who alone makes our steps secure
